We’ve still got a few excruciating months to go, but Saint of Bright Doors is the best book I’ve read so far in 2024. It had my (purely theoretical) vote for the Hugo, but lost to another excellent novel about resistance under fascism, @emilytesh ‘s Some Desperate Glory.
