Gemutlich is the word I've always given as an example of how a word is better/more evocative in one language. It feels snuggly and cosy and warm. Comfortable is meh in comparison.

I did share a house with someone once, we became great friends, but she did complain that I said, 'Good morning,' too cheerfully. I've never been a morning person myself.
