100% this. I’ve been beating the drum since day 1 at my job that Trump 2.0 isn’t Trump 1.0 precisely because of this. Whatever you thought about Mattis, Kelly, Tillerson, et al they were all professionals at least. And there were at least a handful of non-trumpy republicans in congress.

Messaging across 7 million people is hard and it wasn’t 100% but the general “No kings, trump bad, democracy and America good” vibes of the protests this past weekend were as good as we could hope right now, and it sucks people “on our team” want to downplay that. It was something real!

Also the most common chant I heard at NoKings was “Donald trump has got to go” which seems to me like a pretty concrete demand (if albeit an unrealistic one at this moment).

Like we get two weekend days and we used part of one of those to do this. People have other shit to do! But he sucks so bad that we had to do this.
