It’s not something they’ve “figured out”. It’s an obvious playbook as old as civilization and they’re just trying to deploy it on a scale and with a level of dishonesty never attempted before

I’m sensing that Americans are starting to realize what kind of world the billionaire class and their Trumpite stooges are trying to make. The question will be whether they realize it won’t just be 80% of the global population in indentured servitude with them in the 20% as they probably imagine

It appears obvious to them that some groups are below others because they analyze humanity in vertical terms and don’t have the tools to think laterally. Liberals must be stupid because they can’t see what is obvious to them, when in fact they are the ones with finished intellectual capacity.

The thing about people with authoritarian brains and hierarchical worldviews is that they are incapable of conceptualizing more inclusive worldviews. Therefore, they can only project what they can conceptualize, which is that those that are inclusive must be faking it for some hidden purpose

And realize that it won’t be Trump that will be able to wield that authority in full because he won’t be around or cognitively in charge for much longer (if he even is now). It will be whomever successfully maneuvers himself into the position of successor

My daughter is 23. Hers was the first cohort to get smart phones aggressively marketed to preteens (11 in 2013) and was 18 (adult emergence) when COVID started. Double whammy. I call her age group the Axial Gen Z. Tip of the spear for change.

Indeed. The circle of beneficiaries just keeps shrinking. And this American one is, I think, particularly comprised of grifters…with a cult leader who isn’t going to live much longer. It’s going to be ugly as they increasingly fight amongst themselves
