Yes, but does that lab work depend on whether work is done individually or in pairs? It strikes me that working in pairs in the lab automatically gives you someone to talk to and perhaps that's a benefit.

It’s always interesting when solutions are pushed into academic sessions. There are structural challenges around curriculum design, student workload and teaching spaces to overcome but the assumption that academics know how to facilitate more ‘social “learning” experience’ needs serious critique.

Thanks all, really interesting chat tonight #LTHEchat

Agree (and thanks for the resources you've shared tonight). I'd also like acknowledgment that we've developed a level of expertise in sustainability that goes beyond our 'typical' disciplinary knowledge/areas and has value. #LTHEchat

A6 to continue to continue, and to get our ESD community of practice meeting organised for some quality time with those like minded colleagues across my institution #LTHEchat

Definitely a nice way to consider the idea of hazardous substances and how that varies depending on where the substance is...we can consume whey in smoothies and other ways. #LTHEchat

A5 I find the support from the handful of colleagues across my institution who are trying to do similar things in their own disciplines. It's good to have a group of people who share the joys and frustration of advocating for teaching time in this area. #LTHEchat

I find that articulating the skills they'll develop helps 'sell' the activity and get engagement. Particularly for the mPBL that's a no-win scenario so we have to deal with frustration, outrage and anger when there's no 'single excellent solution' #LTHEchat

That is wonderful! I mean not the toxic you waste but the concept. A lovely cross-disciplinary example. #LTHEchat

A3 If I had a month I'd work on a far neater alignment with the UNESCO SDG competencies across our degrees and link it to careers/employability. #LTHEchat www.unsdglearn.org/unesco-cross....

A3 I'd develop a new dynamic mini-PBL session using systems thinking and some kind of industrial chemistry scenario like carbon dioxide as a feedstock/carbon capture and storage. I'm slowly shifting our sustainable chemistry module over to d/mini-PBL but it takes time to develop #LTHEchat

It would be wonderful if there were more opportunities to facilitate e-exchange with students in other countries about ESD. We've done it briefly and I'd love to get back to it. #LTHEchat

I may switch from my normal perspective of cynical idealism to rugged optimism now and again, switch things up for a bit of variety! #LTHEchat A1

I like the GIF, I prefer the Apollo 8 Earthrise over the moon photo...something about seeing home from another (inhospitable) place that drives home all that Earth provides. #LTHEchat

A2 Find someone who's a little further on the journey. Most institutions have sustainability people, find them, generally they'll be willing to share and support, chat and help. Within your discipline there may well be networks you can tap into. Don't reinvent the wheel, share and reuse #LTHEchat
