I was told after the fact that I was supposed to use something called ChronosHub to pay for publications. Yet when I found out about this in 2025, they told me they no longer pay for publications as of 1.1.2025.
Don't know what options others have used, maybe they were just better informed than me.

Feel free to read our lovely publications, so I can at least feel better for having to now pay for them myself!!

(though really hoping some of you out there might have some useful leads for help!!)

And the second of these publications was directly related to a week-long machine learning course I took to better understand the topic we were working on. Yet I was also told this course fee was not eligible to be covered by my grant and owe this back as well.

Several things frustrate me here - the SNSF is credited on these pubs as supporting our research. Yet now want me to pay for this privately, knowing that I have left academia, do not have research funds to pay this, & that I *never* had research funds to pay this as Ambiziones only have their grant.

I guess I was oblivious, but when the secretary and finances office of the uni took my fees willingly to be paid by my grant, I never thought anything was wrong.

I have tried OA funds from the uni and a few other options and so far no one can pay retrospectively :(

As a first-time (junior) PI on a grant, it was the first time ever having to pay for my publications. And having never been informed that a grant from the SNSF could not cover these costs, I only found out upon receipt of my financial report after the grant had ended.

Oh cool! That would also work well, the Acela goes from Boston in the direction I want! I will email you about it when my plans get a little firmer to see if it's still a possibility.
