I don't know if I'd rather have lower tax or watch the Grey Cup. I love football, but I also spend a lot of money on groceries. I'm not sure how taxes work with funding these events, but I feel scammed paying tax on an event I'm probably going to watch from home due to the cold. What do y'all think?

Climate change is becoming a normalized issue. We humans need to take control of how we treat the environment because, from the way things are said to be going, we won't be able to predict what is going to come from the weather.

This article shows a great example of the consequences of environmental abuse. snow sports are being affected by wildfires, rising smoke causing visibility issues, and rising temperatures, shrinking the snow seasons for athletes.

I believe this affected the Pacers franchise so much that even till today they are still finally bringing themselves out of that. This show the extent of the consequence of violence

This article brings to light the increase in spectator violence in the coming years, either between opposing teams or the same teams. I wonder what the main factor is for why it's increasing.

Diversity in media is a continuous struggle that is slowly getting better over the years. It goes to show how long it can take for diversity in men's and women's sports to adapt to equality. Equality in the media on coverage for women's sports is getting pushed out, but there needs to be more.

I feel like Netflix is slowly broadening their content, and maybe in a few years it will have its own sports sector. The Super Bowl being broadcasted on Netflix is another example of how Netflix hints at this.

Great example of rule breaking as negative deviance. Big organizations shouldn't have that much privilege and it's good that they were called out on it.

I fully understand him because I love pop as well, and I usually have it while I'm at the gym. It is still negative deviance, besides him being able to compete at a high level.

Studying the Timberwolves for my media analysis, I did come across how often media praises athletes for "toughing it out." They rarely talk about long-term health risks or the pressure on these players.

Simone Biles is a strong example of how it's important for athletes to recognize when their health comes first. If your mind's not in the right place, there's more risk for injury. By putting her mental health first, it reminded athletes that taking a step back isn't quitting. It's for protection.

This is a good example of how sports and politics can clash, like we talked about in class. It also shines light on how athletes can use their visibility to influence issues on a national level.

Yeah, it shows exactly why policing at big events is not just about stopping problems and protecting but also managing the energy of the crowd. When teams win, emotions are high, and that goes the other way around too. people rush into the streets, things could escalate rapidly.

Jordan Poole really didn't deserve this, even though he didn't have the best game, which is normal not just for him as a player but for every player. Getting violent towards something he couldn't control was a terrible decision by Draymond, and his punishment should've been worse.

Ronda Rousey was the first female fighter to win a UFC championship when the UFC first introduced women's
division. Stereotypically, women may be seen as "delicate or passive"; however, Rousey proved that competing in an aggressive sport doesn't make you less feminine.

I would define sport as any sort of activity that encourages competition between individuals. An activity considered as a sport would be dancing, because I see it as more of a cultural, harmonic way of interacting. Dancing is more of a performance than sport I would say.

First off with a full time career I would need to manage my time properly to live a healthy functional life. I would incorporate a lot of morning walks, dog walks, weekend group sport activities, working out 3 time a week(Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays.)

Working for the City of Regina this summer, we were required staff have first-aid certification and follow concussion protocols in its recreation programs. We even started enforcing signed ID-checked drop-offs and pick-ups. Little additions like these promote a safe environment for sports.
