💎 Kixsmiths Hidden Gems: Veljko Ilić – Serbia’s Rising Wall 💎

Remember when E. Mendy was lesser-known plying his trade in Ligue 2 before becoming a Champions League-winning goalkeeper? Veljko Ilić, currently with FK Čukarički in the Serbian SuperLiga, has the same underdog story waiting to unfold.
"The biggest things in life have been achieved by people who, at the start, we would have judged crazy. And yet if they had not had these crazy ideas the world would have been more stupid."

My ideal scenario would be Sesko over Gyökeres but have to admit Gyökeres would be the perfect now signing for Arsenal in 25/26. If he can hit the ground running. His clinical finishing, intelligent movement, and proven mentality under pressure are exactly what's missing.

If Arsenal refine their positional awareness, master transitions, and sharpen their decision-making under pressure… They won’t need to outwork opponents. They’ll outthink them. That’s how they win the league. #Arsenal #EPL

Under Arteta, Arsenal are building a project meant to sustain success. The exit hurts, but it’s a necessary lesson. The team and manager will come back wiser, stronger, and more equipped next season.

Saka in the Ødegaard role makes sense—he’s press-resistant, creative, and can dictate tempo. Nwaneri wide right adds unpredictability + 1v1 flair. Ødegaard off the bench keeps him fresh + gives Arsenal game-changing control late.

While Victor Gyökeres has garnered headlines with his goal haul at Sporting CP, Liam Delap offers something altogether more suitable for Arsenal's requirements in my opinion.

I don’t think people are looking at the MLS incident in isolation but as part of a larger pattern. Dismissing fans' concerns is never a good idea—feeling unheard fuels frustration. That said, abuse and threats are unacceptable and should be fully investigated and prosecuted.

1/ 🧵 Refereeing in football is under more scrutiny than ever. With controversial decisions in the Premier League and Europe, is it time for bold change? Let’s talk about foreign referees and the role of AI in the beautiful game. ⚽️👇

Has any player justified a £100m price tag as well as Declan Rice? Arteta must love him—he can play anywhere, seems humble, and always puts the team first.

Bring Partey and Rice on for Merino and Jorginho please

Why does Martinelli run with his head down? It seems like a sign of low confidence, and I don't see him overcoming it anytime soon. He needs to keep playing and be given the freedom to make mistakes until things start to click for him.

This should never be a AFC vs. LFC but I would like to know if any fan actually thinks the PGMOL is fit for purpose. Who has oversight over these people, are they actually independent and don't get me started on how they have their mates on TV now defending this rubbish daily.

I like the idea of Liverpool thinking they already won the trophy and Arsenal being the hunter. There have been too many disruptions to this team and once everything settles we should be able to hit our stride. Let them enjoy the half-way trophy.
January 5, 2025 at 1:29 PM
The PGMOL is not fit for purpose:
❌ Consistent VAR controversies.
❌ Lack of referee accountability.
❌ Persistent inconsistencies in decisions across matches.

Until transparency and accountability improve.

Refereeing Arsenal: A pattern of unprecedented reds. Rice, Trossard, Saliba, Martinelli (double yellow), David Luiz, Xhaka, Tomiyasu, RVP—decisions with no precedent, never repeated elsewhere. Coincidence? Or something more? 🤔
January 4, 2025 at 9:26 PM
Decisions against Arsenal feel like a test case for chaos: Martinelli's 2 yellows in one play, Luiz's penalty at Wolves, Brighton calls this season, Newcastle last year. Now PGMOL plants pundits to defend this mess. Making refs 'pro' only gave egos a stage. Enough is enough.

Nwaneri has provided the drive and energy we've been lacking. Jesus shifting to the left when we're out of possession has been a significant help.

Man City should focus on settling into their rhythm, slowing down their buildup, and maintaining control. Once they reach the final third, they need to be decisive and ruthless, rather than overcomplicating their play.

It's such an injustice that we lost Timber for the entire season and more. What a player—so composed, and he always seems to have all the time in the world.
December 21, 2024 at 7:10 PM
Lewis-Skelly is the one. I hope he is Partey's understudy.
December 11, 2024 at 8:35 PM
Kiwior has that type of pass in his locker and more. Hopefully, his confidence continues to grow during this time.

1/ A thread on how Martin Ødegaard playing more centrally and floating between flanks could unlock the full potential of Arsenal's attack. 💡⚽
December 8, 2024 at 8:42 PM
I believe we need a strong presence in the central No. 10 role. Right now, it's too easy for opponents to shift their defensive line to the left to counter Saka and Ødegaard without having to worry about a threat in the central attacking area.

That would have been ridiculous by Salah. Stop it!!
