It's actuality safer. It didn't bother me. The surgeon had worked on my mom so he said I was just like her. He just asked if it would bother me if he cut open my leg while I was awake. I was fine with it because my leg was still numb.

My mom and I are drug resistant. The dentist first said it to me. I needed 5 shots for a root canal. I didn't feel anything when I broke a bone. Both of us wake up under anesthesia.

My friend does drug research at a famous hospital. People experience pain differently. Some people (about 25%) are drug resistant. They will never get addicted. Obviously, those in more pain are more vulnerable.

My Uncle's girlfriend was Mexican from Salinas. They were both into heroin at one time. It's their kid that got into a gang. I think of that area as farm workers but two parents on heroin probably created the conditions for this to happen.

Addiction is an illness. It runs in my family. We've had heroin addicts but they are not likely to kill you. My cousin is in prison for murder but he got involved in gangs.

I know Reagan cut the money to take care of them in hospitals. We had one near us as a kid. It's still empty. They used it during Covid lockdown.

Unfortunately, people with mental health issues self medicate with drugs. It doesn't help the underlying illness.

It runs in families. We had a heartbreaking case here with an adopted child who committed murder.

When you see homeless talking to themselves, they usually have schizophrenia and they can be dangerous because of their delusions. They literally can think your a tomato and cut you with a knife (law school case). They do meet the criteria for not guilty because of insanity.

One of my close friends from childhood has two brothers with schizophrenia. It can run in families. His brother was also homeless and committed suicide. There's a really good book about it. I think Happy Valley?
