The Cons have become the destroyer of what is good and decent in this world.
Deleted my first post here. Dealing with the complex I allowed Twitter to give me and expecting a bot backlash. But I realized, it’s different here. The US election broke something in me. And I am Canadian. It is not shocking to see a misogynistic rapist, to say the very least, run again. After all, it worked once and he actually won. But that he got more than the votes of his own family, given his 1st term track record, is what is staggeringly alarming to me. It makes me weary. Because we, too, have a vile, misogynistic fella. A lazy, arrogant, pretentious and ignorant man named Jeff, who goes by the name of Pierre Poilievre. I know he knows lying works, so lying he does. If it worked for the orange con, why not him? And that’s what worries me. Canada isn’t what it used to be. Hate is proliferating and Jeff is the king of fear mongering. He is as quick to criticize the other parties almost as fast as he takes credit (complete with photo ops) for all the work they have accomplished, no thanks to him and his merry band of deplorables. The US election shocked me, again. I never thought I’d witness the power of propaganda in this massive scale so close to home at work, reminiscent of the Third Reich’s rise to power. Front and centre, living next door, spilling over the great white north. What does this say about us, as a society? My hope is I still have a lot in me to resist. But resist we must. These bastards must not prevail. Not this time. Not here.
