[2] About 2-3 years ago I started a drawing of a robot horse. But I put it aside for quite a long time. Today I finally finished it.
For full transparency: Yes I‘ve drawn it on top of a photo of a horse as it started as a training for drawing mechanical parts. However, I later got carried away.

[2] He has to repair the time machine (like no other time traveler movie used that idea before) and he gets help from homo sapiens and homo neanderthalensis. They love the space shuttle so much, that they decorate it with paintings like the cave pintings of Lascaux,Chauvet, Rouffignac or Pech Merle.

My most recent 3D print: A Homotherium (scimitar cat). It‘s unfortunately not clear which species.
I used the print setting of 0.2 mm (speed) and Prusament PETG as filament. I prefer Prusament PLA but the 3D printing office ran out of PLA at the moment and I don‘t know when they restock it.

Another (older) 3D print. The woolly mammoth.
I used the print settings of 0.2 mm (speed) and Prusament PLA as filament. The mandible can be removed.

Another (older) 3D print. The Megaloceros giganteus or irish elk.
The antlers are massive! This is the biggest I could print on an FDM printer.
I used the print settings of 0.2 mm (speed) and Prusament PLA as filament.

Behold: My most recent 3D print. The Smilodon fatalis.
I used the print settings of 0.2 mm (speed) and Prusament PLA as filament. I had to encourage supports around the large canines as they broke the first time.
I absolutely love it! I always wanted a model of a Smilodon skull with movable jaw.

Oh man even the welcome desk worker knows that I‘m the weird paleontology person.

I think I‘m the weird paleontology lady now.

Yes this really happened to me XD Haha I hope they liked their tour through the 3D printing area.
Sorry for the ugly art. I‘m at university right now so I can‘t really draw when people are walking around me.

As a kid I was super scared of that weird vacuum cleaner from Teletubbies. Mainly because of the noise he made.

Servals are just cats with rabbit ears.

I edited it a bit. It still looks a bit empty. I‘m still thinking about what else I could add.

I tried to paint a terracotta flowerpot like one of those ancient greek amphorae.
I‘m not finished yet but I don‘t know what else I could add.

If you think about it, a unicorn might be the manliest thing ever. First of all, the word stud or stallion often gets used to describe men who are… you know… good in performing romance. Secondly, have you ever looked at its horn? A long, hard object placed on its forehead to present it to the world?

I bought Lion King T-shirt that is a parody of Star Wars. I hope the people at my university are that kind of big nerds that they realize that its referencing the 1977 Star Wars poster.

I 3D printed Haku from Spirited Away in his dragon form. I used the print settings of 0.2 mm (speed) and Prusament PLA as filament. I printed it without any supports but with a brim.
For his whiskers I just cut and glued some filament on it.

So here are all the clay animal figurines I made. Some look nice. Some look ugly (I really tried).
First image: Extant animals
Second image: Extinct animals
Third image: Unicorn as a bonus
July 10, 2025 at 3:31 PM
So I made several animal figurines of extant and extinct species. They look ugly, but somehow cute in their own weird way.
Here I made a Smilodon (it‘s one of the good ones). I didn’t paint it as I liked it blank. I painted the other figurines.

And another 3D print. This time a paw/foot to place something on. It‘s in the style of these lion feet of antique furniture. This one on the photo is the small version I printed. I made an even bigger one. It‘s pretty cool to look at.

I used the settings 0.20 mm (speed) and filament Prusament PLA.

Here is a 3D print of the Greek horse of Selene statue.
I printed it with the settings 0.15 mm or 0.20 mm and with either Prusament PETG or Prusament PLA.
I also printed a small version 😊
I just love the details and expression the original artist was able to capture in marble (!).
