I'm not the only one happy this box came, it's hard to see, but one of my cats is now lying on some of the packing paper (she loves smells from new places...)

I inherited a previous Jp teacher's daughter's manga collection (they are both fine, they just moved back to Japan for obvious reasons recently) and damn, she has good taste! I suddenly have complete collections of a bunch of series I want to read (Natsume, Ouran, Otomen, etc)💖💖💖

Went to the FIRE MUSEUM (消防博物館) in Yotsuya yesterday and it was very good! Highly recommend! They had a sweet fire fighting motorcycle and a ton on fire fighting from the Edo period to present day. I forgot to take pictures of most of the stuff, cause it was too interesting
The sweet fire fighting motorcycle they developed after the Great Hanshin Earthquake, since they had trouble getting trucks through urban places to fires. Also it's cool as fuck display of matoi for the various for fighting groups of Edo (there were *a lot*) clothes that the wealthier samurai would wear when going to fight fires, repleat with amusing hats

My only "injury" this trip has been this monster blister (ignore the mosquito bites, I'm too delicious). I first got it...I dunno, within days of arriving, but it had gone down until yesterday, probably because I walked at least 20,000 steps getting turned around in Kabukicho and Ikebukuro...

The night time lights in Kabukicho. a rainbow of colors! The red curly arch over the main street of Kabukicho at night. Extremely iconic A restaurant store front in Kabukicho. Lisa and lots of lit up paper lanterns, most of which are red. There's also nicely complementary green and yellow awnings on the second floor The famous Godzilla Head (and claws) on the Toho Cinema roof in Kabukicho. It looks like Godzilla is peeking out at the city. Lots of lights, since it's nighttime, the Hotel Gracery is pleasingly stripey
