"Fake and expensive" describes it pretty well id say. Small independent festivals are in more danger to die out. The bigger ones will just get more greedy for sure.

I dont think they would lose popularity. Whats gonna happen is that a lot of them will devolve into pure "get wasted" parties. People dont go to festivals for the music but to drink and party. At least the smaller ones. Even if not, whats more important is the visuals and not the art anymore...

As someone who literally works at concerts. Absolutely no they are not, respectfully. ESPECIALLY the big crowds. There may be the die hard barricade brigade of die hard fans. But those make out only a miniscule amount of people (not to mention that they also OVERDO it)
