Americans strike me as very fearful-of having their minds changed, of people who don’t look like them, of disagreement, of healthcare, of the unhoused, of advancement, of each other, of everyone else. The gun culture is so clearly informed by fear, for example.

The fact that we had better public transit options when I was a teenager than we do in my 30s blows my mind. It’s a joke. How are there no BUSES anymore? And no one says boo. We can’t get from where we live to the city 20 minutes away on the weekends.
