I highly recommend if you haven't played or seen before, check out Sonic R. It's an old Sonic racing game that has a similar look to Diddy but doesn't have item boxes for help. The branching paths for shortcuts and items really makes players explore tracks. Maybe it could help with map ideas for you

I think that's why Diddy Kong Racing and other kart racers like it shine even now. As much as I like Mario Kart, it's either super luck based or you have to be playing like a computer to stand against other player online. Diddy does have skill but not super crazy for first time players.

That's awesome! The small gameplay you showed reminded me of Diddy Kong Racing, so I really wanted to try it out when you release a demo. I think this game and your recent Robo Rolo game look amazing, so definitely keep up your skills! :)
