I can honestly say this was the best move. As much as their products are cool and novel in their own right, having ties to a highly controversial person doesn't make me want to buy it, no matter what games come out. Deprive them of oxygen. Hopefully, the devs find another publisher like Megacat.

Thank God, I thought I was thinking the same thing about that guy 😂😂😂

So, the Wii downloadable games no longer being accessible, and ridiculous patents on decades old mechanics are "conjecture"?

Each era of gaming has a unique soul. Outside of a few gems, this era in gaming feels damn near soulless because of crappy business practices like game key cards or patents on summoning a creature or flying on said creature, especially since THOSE SAME MECHANICS EXISTED BEFORE POKEMON! 😑

I don't but into the notion that video games shouldn't be preserved because money. Devs and artists put their heart and soul into these games, and they deserved to be played whether they're in their original form or their 10th edition.

Do you really enjoy buying the same game serveral times over just for the convenience of playing it on a new console, or shinier graphics, or the off chance of mid bonus content? I understand video gaming is a business, but it is also an art.

And sure the games from the Wii U/3DS era are still available for you to redownload, but the same can't be said for original Wii shop games. It happens eventually to all digital console platforms, and it'll happen to 3DS, Wii U, and yes, even Switch 1 & 2 games.

First off, game preservation is hardly niche. Second, when did I say Nintendo should abandon 3rd party? And third, it's typically BUSINESS reasons why we can't have nice things.

I'll just keep buying physical games on my Switch 1, and digital on Steam, and other PC platforms. Nintendo kind of ruined it for me this generation between this and the legal bs they're pulling with that stupid patient, which is a shame because I loved Nintendo.

All for something that will eventually become unavailable. Once the servers are gone, those games will not be redownloadable anymore. It would be one thing if the games are cheaper than a game on a cart, but they aren't. Those savings aren't really passed down to the costumers.

I would be happy to deal with longer load times if it meant the game being on the cart. On top of that, the customer is still being charged for a full priced game that has to be downloaded to the system memory or a new expensive SD card that will take a while for prices to drop.

That's one way to look at it. However, that trade-off isn't worth it to the consumer. When the servers eventually go down to download these games, you basically got a husk of plastic waste with a neat(?) box cover (I'm really not digging the box cover this generation either).
