So - down for two years in total (sentences to run “concurrently”), George will be out in a year. But a year in adult prison is very different to a year in a YOI. Chances of rehabilitation reduced. Hope they don’t miss the chance to explore the shattered state of prisons / rehabilitation services.

If George can get his head around the fact he did this to himself, and demonstrate real insight and remorse, he might just manage a suspended sentence. For that to happen he needs a custodial sentence of no more than 2 years. He’s on the cusp of that or higher…1/2
