I really wish my parents had given me a chance to make irl friends back when I was at school. Any friendship I had, they said, would put me on a ruinous life path, that friends that are not in the same industry as me or friends that don't make money are a waste of time

This fandom used to stand for something.. Now it's riddled with bigots and nazis. The most significant thing that can help the fandom is for the cons to start banning problematic people, and I am serious. We literally can't ignore the fact these people are pouring in like crazy in our safe spaces.
