It's amusing me that the AP poll tracker doesn't even have a symbol on their legend to indicate a called Republican win so far because they aren't winning ANYTHING.

"I'm really concerned about [well known AI concern like ethical use, replacing jobs, etc...]."
"Oh yeah that's definitely a problem and we don't have an answer for any of it but it's going to happen anyway so you might as well get on board."

I get the impression from some Trump supporters that if Donald walked up and personally slapped them in the face, they still would unquestioningly believe him when he said it was "the Democrats" fault.

It's not the healthiest, but an effective way to keep me off social media is for me to angrily post something and then I'm scared to open that app for a while in case someone yells back.

I think we as a society need to have a rule that if your story fits in a single post of 500 characters or less (i.e. Twitter, Threads, Bluesky...) it does not need a TDLR, even if what you're saying is really boring.

I don't take too much comfort in seeing posts about people's MAGA relatives regretting their votes, because I think that's what showed in 2020... and 2024 still happened. People love to blame a sitting president for everything and are happy to retcon it once they're out of office.

Apparently a hot take that I have is that baking does not actually require more precision than cooking? I seem to run into a lot of people that use to explain why they don't like baking.

I keep seeing people talking about "Well what if Clinton is in the Epstein files?" as a gotcha question (usually with the response we don't care, prosecute them all) but like .. you really think Trump would withhold anything that had dirt on the Clinton's?

It is pretty rich to see Trump trying to accuse Obama of "treason" for.... well, literally anything, but particularly for something election related.

Reading a picture book that gay people exist and have happy weddings? Infringing on parental right to religious freedom by teaching that those people are normal.
Have to display posters of the Ten Commandments in all classrooms? Oh, that's just history, pretty ridiculous that you let it bother you.

We've been slowly working on cleaning up stuff in our spare room that's built up over the last few years (since kid...) and finally got to a point last weekend where you can actually walk into the room. Really nice when I needed something today and it was easy to get to.

I cannot figure out why people who respond to a question with "I asked ChatGPT and it's answer was..." think this is helpful. ChatGPT isn't some hidden secret - if that was what I wanted, I could do it myself.
