Actually three corgis in a trench coat standing on each other's shoulders.
It's amusing me that the AP poll tracker doesn't even have a symbol on their legend to indicate a called Republican win so far because they aren't winning ANYTHING.

Every conversation I hear about AI:

"I'm really concerned about [well known AI concern like ethical use, replacing jobs, etc...]."

"Oh yeah that's definitely a problem and we don't have an answer for any of it but it's going to happen anyway so you might as well get on board."

Reassuring 😮‍💨

I get the impression from some Trump supporters that if Donald walked up and personally slapped them in the face, they still would unquestioningly believe him when he said it was "the Democrats" fault.

My fall body temperature options are:

1. Uncomfortably cold, but alert.
2. Cozy and warm, and ready for a nap.

Absolutely no in between, sadly.

I have a feeling my morning is going to be spent Googling if [whatever service I'm trying to use] runs on AWS.

I forgot how many unplanned naps I take in the fall as a result of getting too cozy in a blanket while trying to warm up. Time to turn the furnace up a little. 🍂

Instead of doom scrolling, I'm going to try working on my gaming backlog for a bit. Tonight's selection - Final Fantasy XVI.

It's not the healthiest, but an effective way to keep me off social media is for me to angrily post something and then I'm scared to open that app for a while in case someone yells back.

Streaming services should not be allowed to show me scary movie commercials when I'm home by myself.

Just remembered this post from earlier this summer...
I am going to remember all the horrible and soulless things Trump and other Republicans are saying about this assassination for the next time (not if, WHEN) someone else tries to kill one of them.

So fun fact about guns and how they're used to protect our freedom from tyranny (supposedly the reason the second amendment is extra super duper important, according to my Christian nationalist relative):

They don't do shit when you actively welcome fascism and military patrolling the streets.

I think we as a society need to have a rule that if your story fits in a single post of 500 characters or less (i.e. Twitter, Threads, Bluesky...) it does not need a TDLR, even if what you're saying is really boring.

TDLR my attention span is not that short k.

I don't take too much comfort in seeing posts about people's MAGA relatives regretting their votes, because I think that's what showed in 2020... and 2024 still happened. People love to blame a sitting president for everything and are happy to retcon it once they're out of office.

Apparently a hot take that I have is that baking does not actually require more precision than cooking? I seem to run into a lot of people that use to explain why they don't like baking.

Always exciting to see hawks in my neighborhood flying around and doing cool hawk things. Just fun to watch them and makes me glad humans have made changes to bring their populations up where they can.

I keep seeing people talking about "Well what if Clinton is in the Epstein files?" as a gotcha question (usually with the response we don't care, prosecute them all) but like .. you really think Trump would withhold anything that had dirt on the Clinton's?

It is pretty rich to see Trump trying to accuse Obama of "treason" for.... well, literally anything, but particularly for something election related.

Must be feeling like he needs to distract from something lately to be bringing that up. Gee, I wonder what that could be? 👀

Very annoying to finally catch up a bit on my too long to do list and realize that it's not just that I don't have time - I also actually don't really want to do some of these things (I want them some, I just don't want to do them).

So far today I have:
- spilled apple juice into a drawer full of knick-knacks
- dropped my laptop on its side, breaking a USB dongle

It's only 9am. Follow me for more exciting updates about how the rest of this apparently cursed day is gonna go 😵‍💫

If either "arbitrary" or "capricious" isn't the word of the year for 2025, I don't know what is.

Reading a picture book that gay people exist and have happy weddings? Infringing on parental right to religious freedom by teaching that those people are normal.

Have to display posters of the Ten Commandments in all classrooms? Oh, that's just history, pretty ridiculous that you let it bother you.

We've been slowly working on cleaning up stuff in our spare room that's built up over the last few years (since kid...) and finally got to a point last weekend where you can actually walk into the room. Really nice when I needed something today and it was easy to get to.

Small victories ☺️

I cannot figure out why people who respond to a question with "I asked ChatGPT and it's answer was..." think this is helpful. ChatGPT isn't some hidden secret - if that was what I wanted, I could do it myself.
