Ahimsa in yogic philosophy translate to “non-harm,” which we can look at as being kind and compassionate to those around us. Not causing harm. But Ahimsa also asks us to take action when harm is being caused around us. Ahimsa is not action-less. It is the act of reducing harm & hatred. Everywhere.

I know white women think of yoga as a cute way to get in shape and wear skintight clothing, but the roots of yoga ask us to move from a place of resistance, to let go of external needs, to speak out and reduce spaces causing harm, and to remember that we are all connected. Yoga is more than poses.
