I also don't mind. I'm not seriously jealous of a character, but with the rise of cringe culture and also weirdos its not exactly good for Fandom to grow. Even when the Fandom was small I've received hate comments for hcs and I was literally 13.

That's kinda how I felt in the beginning of the brazilian Fandom when everyone found Yata ugly (miss those days, felt like I had less competition)
