Ah yeah, it could be a Z. Here’s another angle. It’s hard to tell because the bottom line is so close to the edge of the band and not very distinct.

Thanks! I’ll submit her details later. 😊

The string was a fishing line, caught on Richard’s wing with a triple hook. 😢

Thanks to Norfolk Broads Wildlife Rescue Squad on Facebook for getting rid of the awful thing. He seemed a bit grumpier than usual when I went to check on him, but also happy with it gone! 🥰

The other possibility is 4EXH is female, and 4DUH is male.

Aww no. 😭

The family here seems happy to let their kids stick around longer. Their last lot were around well into the new year, and the five they have now are still with them.

It’s sad how chasing their own young off can end so badly. 😞

There is a fifth juvenile hidden behind a tree. They were too busy preening to be interested in food today.

Sooo… Turned out Richard still has the string stuck to him.

Thankfully managed to find another rescue who are looking out for him, so should be sorted once they can track him down! 😅

Clocked it within the first minute. There’s an unnatural consistency to the tone of some repeated terms. No way that’s a real human voice. It sounds so wrong.

Great discussion. Was good to get some insight on queer representation in fiction in general.

Wish I could’ve been there on the day. Hopefully see you at NGF next year!
