Top 10: 1st place (The big 25th)
The best loco in my fleet goes to the D11 by Bachmann.
Theres nothing to fault here. Runs and pulls like a dream. Build quality is amazing .
Plus its such a carecterful 4-4-0, so chunky.
And it looks lovely with my matching A5

Top 10: 2nd place : Day 24
The bachmann C1 251
Whats not to love here? Atlantics are probably the most elegant locos around and especially in gnr green.
Amazing how much smaller they are then their eventual replacements

Top 10: Day 23 3rd place
An A3 at 3
Not much to say here. This is from an era when Hornby were producing great quality models for a fraction of what todays offerings cost.
Plus Scotsman just looks so handsome like this.

Top 10: Day 22 (4th place)
The WD 2-8-0 ... or i guess in this guise an NS4300
Now this loco isnt the most detailed or quietest/smoothest loco but it does something many locos dont. It makes me smile and enjoy running it. Isnt that the whole point of models?

The bachmann C class 592. Such a beautifully painted loco. Even as a freight engine it looks good with my SECR coach .
A model ive wanted for so long and im glad to own it finally

Top 10: 7th place
The bachmann 8750. It might not be the newest or flashiest model but ive had much more expensive locos fail me where as this £40 model keeps chugging along no matter what.
Plus it was myfirst engine that wasnt a toy.

The Accurascale class 55. A loco that needs no introduction.Looks at home on some blue and grey coaches or idling in a siding. A real looker

Top 10: In 9th place we have the class 33 by Heljan. Ive been rather dubious of heljan products but after picking this up my perception has changed .
Its a quiet and smooth runner, will pull anything i aak of it. Only downside is it is a pretty basic model

Top 10 and were in the final stretch.
In 10th place we have the Sonic Models A5 in GCR green.
A astonishingly good looking loco that runs great whrn it wants to. Problem is the springing on the back pony has always been bad causing in condtant derailments

Day 15
The Bachmann A4 (and my fav A4) sir nigel gresley.
A decent model that needed some detailing works (painted buffers, drain cocks, lamps , etc)
I do love it but i might look into renaming a far superior hornby A4 (maybe the black one post overhaul?)

Day 13
Once again were pushing the limits of a "loco" with the class 411 EMU. A unique unit within my fleet.
Its the older version but still is a real treat towatch

Day 12
Probably my cheapest loco for only £31 the Bachmann 56xx. For the price i expected to have to do alot of work but nope. Runs fine, looks good and strong too

Day 10
Whilst technically more than just a loco i couldnt resist a 2 car dmu , especially with a Scarborough headboard.
And of course thanks to @ViewParkside for finding a spare center car

Day 6 a class 68 in DRS plain blue hauling a mk5a set for debranding and storage.
Coincidentally 68026 was one of the locos to work the mk5a in service

Day 5 The 57XX by Bachmann. Technically a 2 for 1 as both are examples of the preserved 5775.
The definition of you dont always need the newest locos on your layout
