to clarify musk has said they're launching a test of the "not a bot" program in New Zealand and the Philippines where new users will need to either pay for the check mark or opt to pay $1 per year to be able to do anything beyond viewing and liking posts

nope i went and checked it's from the actual account special x logo and all. he actually thinks that bot farms arn't willing to pay 1 dollar a year per new bot when 90% are already "verified". not to mention this will only effect new bots existing users are being left alone (for now)

If you had an 'in' to the thread (either a reply by you or someone you follow) you could continue commenting but you wouldn't be able to see the op's posts and they wouldn't see yours you also would only be able to see the single thread you where in not all comments to the op
