Short thread where I try to explain what validity is and why it's important.

An image to launch a thousand training courses and new job titles.
Also - why is sixth form always just "sixth form"? Presumably all the other stuff applies to it as well? As in attendance, teaching etc?

The tricky question of assessment at KS3

One of the conversations I’m having with colleagues relates to assessment at Key Stage 3.

While it’s important to know how our young people are getting on, we also need to appreciate the limits of assessment

I’m often asked “how did you turn the school around?” We know as leaders that it’s not quite as simple as doing one thing and it all being better. The big thing is all the little things. But ultimately it’s taking a team and bringing them with you. I am privileged to work with incredible people.

Life never really slows down, I have a family that I adore, a job that I love and a life that is extremely busy! I wouldn’t have it any other way. Here’s to the one day a year I remember to mention this to my husband 🥰

Met the most incredible woman today to discuss nutrition and the impacts of diet on human behaviour. We had a particular focus for students with ASD and how eating the right foods can make a difference to self regulation and the ability to manage difficult situations. Thought provoking 🤔

Finally got round to setting up my BlueSky account in the hope I can move away from X but still follow amazing people in the education world, who have shaped what I do today. If you work in education and think you have something good to say, let me know so I can follow to check out if I agree 😀
