This #Russian strike was a #double-tap. This means #emergencyresponders are targeted after 1st strike. Our friend was significantly injured in 2nd hit (he'd gone to help). People killed in their beds. This was 30 miles/50 kms from us. We're 22 kms from #frontline, this was 30 kms away🇺🇦 #SlavaUkraini

The air alert alarm is nearly always on in #Donetsk. It is disturbingly regular. Those who remain here no longer react - they'd be sheltered 24/7 if they did. This is how the air alarm sounds in the eerily quiet Myru square (the main administrative centre of Kramatorsk) #Ukraine

It's been a day & a night of it in Kramatorsk #Donetsk. Felt the impact of 5 strong waves from heavy #missile landings. It's hard to explain but it's kind of a deep, pulsating burst of energy reverberating through the air. You physically absorb some sensation of it in your body... (1/2) 🇺🇦

It has been quite warm weather in #Ukraine for this time of year. Rather than joy @ needing to wear less layers, this good #weather is fear-inducing as spring brings forth a frightening,unpredictable fighting season. It was scary enough when #Ukrainians knew they had #USA's backing.

I have always felt safe with #Starmer as leader & am proud to have him as our Prime Minister. He is a principled man. Whatever his own politics, he knows you must be objective & unemotional as a state leader making decisions for the inter/national interest. He is who we need at this critical moment.

Beginning my long journey back to #Donetsk. From #Alicante 🇪🇸 - #Vienna 🇦🇹 - #Chisinau 🇲🇩 (via air). Then overland to #Odesa 🇺🇦 (bus) - #Kharkiv 🇺🇦 (train) - #Kramatorsk 🇺🇦 (armoured car). Total journey takes around 4 days, with necessary breaks. #travel #Europe #Spain #Austria #Moldova #Ukraine
