Surely you’re making an assumption that the government would listen to legal advice? (My mother was a solicitor with a state government in Australia for many years, specializing in legislative drafting, so I know exactly what they would say.)

I generally hate AI, but I will make an exception in channeling Ward Cleaver here:

He spoke about lawyers’ duty to uphold the rule of law and promote judicial independence, not a theoretical responsibility, but a daily, practical one that requires courage, vigilance, and a willingness to speak out.

Thanks for linking this - CBABC has also been active looking for ways to communicate the importance of the rule of law. Also, Wagner gave a speech in the summer reminding lawyers of their duty to protect the rule of law

And also reality:

- public statements by professionals that target and vilify groups protected by human rights laws create an unsafe environment to provide the public with services.

- hateful/offensive public statements by professionals can create an unsafe work environment for their employees.

And while we’re on the subject of performance, I’ll add that I should get points taken off my final score for mocking my kids, who have recently started buying up old crap digital cameras, and telling them that the photos from them look like crap, which is why why my generation stopped using them.

One of my kids recently bought a typewriter from a thrift shop just because. I feel like they’d get along with your niece with an interest in fountain pens.

Oh, cone on, surely anything you’ve kept that long must be a “statement” piece? Like my Absolutely Fabulous tshirt with a picture of Patsy swigging from a bottle of vodka with a cig in her other hand?

What I’m gathering from this exercise is that GenX lesbians are statistically the most performative sub population.

Okay, but help me out answering this one - does it count as “vintage clothing” if it’s just stuff you still have in your wardrobe from the 90s?

I'm willing to bet that if Denning were still alive he'd be happy to confirm that all comes under the tort of negligence.

I admit I didn't read it but assume it goes on to say that the number doesn't matter because the rule of law has broken down in the USA and that criminal prosecutions are now entirely political? Right?
