A pair of images from the shore of Lake Superior during a nice morning around -25°F. The frosted rocks, cool light and sea smoke created a pleasing scene that captured my attention. I was perhaps standing here a bit too long, as my boots actually froze to the rocks a bit.

A nearly -50 °F wind chill blasted across a remote inland lake and created some interesting snowdrifts in the parking lot. Within a few minutes I had to retreat to the car, clutching my hand warmers until the feeling returned in my fingers.

December was warm and foggy. While I miss the snow and true winter, the atmosphere was incredible. At least we still get our Polar Vortex starting today.

A few minimalist images from last year's winter trip to the North Shore. Looking forward to returning in a few weeks. Fingers crossed that conditions will be better than last year's grey melty warm days. The forecast is at least trending in the right direction.
