Today in my undergrad #Memory class, we did a fun demo reproducing the "Remembering the presidents" study of collective memory (e.g., Roediger & Crowder 1967, Roediger & DeSoto 2014)

Poor Chester Arthur occupied the minimum of our class forgetting curve...

Out today in Visual Cognition - lots of cool articles on the theme of handling visual distraction!

Ours (w/ Zi Yang and John Serences) uses "surprise trials" to show that visual capture is ~10x larger the first time we encounter a distractor
