It was particularly lovely to win this award in the year that I left Warwick Liberal Arts, the programme the module was designed for. Thanks so much to all the students who took the module and helped shape it (and my thinking about utopias) in so many ways.

The interdisciplinary framework asked students to work together to synthesize their knowledge, and produce a collaborative response to the week’s set problem. Students critique different kinds of utopian projects and propose their own alternative ways of living.

Utopia: Text, Theory, Practice was a real labour of love.

Using interdisciplinary problem-based learning, students had shared responsibility for the creation of knowledge; e.g. through an "open" curriculum which recognised students as researchers in their own right.
