just do it in a way that's fun

on the one hand it's very "one man among untold billions" which is on brand

on the other hand, that still doesn't make it fun, interesting or satisfying so...

I believe they had a rough couple of Kickstarters quite a few years ago but they seem to have got that out of their system at this point thankfully

I have a frankly embarrassing amount of Archon stuff. The models are good quality, the plastic is a little different to GWs but still good, and the Dungeons and Lasers kickstarters at least have been either on time or delivered early.

They do sponsor the channel sometimes, just so you're aware.

Friend of mine once got a decent sized beholder from Etsy that cracked and leaked uncured resin all over a bunch of other models in transit... It had been printed hollow but with no drainage

With the amount of 3rd party support I'd be surprised if 3d printing ever stops being a viable way to play honestly

Some people are claiming that ALL support for 3d printing is being dropped and its just not true lol

Also buying prints is a fucking minefield. Does the seller have a license? Who knows! Did they pay for the STLs in the first place? You tell me!

Etsy is practically Tortuga when it comes to 3d prints

"but people can just buy prints!"

Yeah, if they want to. And now if they want to they can buy plastic as well. Options! Choice! Expansion!

"Corpo greed"

Yeah god forbid the creators of this game want more people to play it and ensure they can keep on expanding and improving it

They're still offering the current STLs for purchase, they're still working with 3rd party creators to provide officially licensed STLs, and they're still going to be releasing STLs themselves (at a reduced scale)

Plastics in stores means more eyes, lower barrier to entry etc

Look I love my 3d printer, it's basically magic, it's incredible

But the 3d printing route has a) not really worked out for TC when it comes to them being able to supply physical minis at the demand they're facing and b) not allowed them to expand into retail stores
