There is some real irony to Microsoft giving the longest servicing life to Vista/Server 2008, the operating system that has the most issues with servicing. We’ve spent the most time working around issues that only exist in Vista/2008’s rewritten update system. Basically all issues were solved in 7.

These subtly incorrect but very confident-sounding sentences are the exact reason AI can never be trusted. I spent 5 minutes making sure everything I said above is correct. AI doesn’t, and can’t, fact check itself like this.

Because these are generated based on Usenet threads, tons and tons of these exist. The issue being, nobody uses Usenet any more. So you get things like the AI (probably GPT 5 mini) suggesting a Windows 98 user in 2004 follow instructions it acknowledges as being for modern Windows.
