There is some real irony to Microsoft giving the longest servicing life to Vista/Server 2008, the operating system that has the most issues with servicing. We’ve spent the most time working around issues that only exist in Vista/2008’s rewritten update system. Basically all issues were solved in 7.

Because these are generated based on Usenet threads, tons and tons of these exist. The issue being, nobody uses Usenet any more. So you get things like the AI (probably GPT 5 mini) suggesting a Windows 98 user in 2004 follow instructions it acknowledges as being for modern Windows.

@hacks4pancakes I forget how spoiled we are for eye care is in this country that this year when my glasses broke, I just went for the free warranty replacement because I thought spending $150 was too much! (We’ll see how many years I can get away with making them warranty replace it till they […]
