I haven't really followed Buttigieg's career but I always heard normies liked him because he showed up on Fox News and yelled at conservatives so I assumed he had to be somewhat effective. But between this and the weasel-mouthed shit about trans people, I'm just left wondering how this is their guy

And fwiw: even if we say that "the right to change one's sex" is materially focused (and to some extent it is), it's still using the language of liberalism because that language is very legible to Americans. I don't buy at all that liberalism is opposed to talking about material concerns

Not the vague posting point: a squishy definition of "liberalism" is really not helping her point. Holding the 14th amendment as a counter to a certain type of liberalism makes no sense to me. The reconstruction amendments were (in part) a make good on the enlightenment liberalism of the revolution

I think even with the unique advantages of RCV and Cuomo being the worst, it seems to me that NYC is one of the harder places to do insurgent primaries? There's a reason that ny keeps producing people like hochul, Adams, Jefferies, and Schumer

I feel like even the most realpolitik, believe nothing sort should be in favor of detention center visits because it seems the only way Dems can capture attention in an attention economy so fully aligned against them

tangentially, i think this is also the reason that the Marc Andreesen/Palmer Lucky cohort are obsessed with LOTR, where the restoration fantasy is so direct. They fashion themselves as aragorn and the throne of man as an idealized masculinity or some such

they definitely see gender as a tool of control, but as one who's roles are predestined. A person is born as a man, that confers him a duty of control, and part of that is taking what is rightfully his and has been taken from him. The performance of gender then is a fulfillment of destiny

I know the messiness of normal software, I've worked in barely functional programs, but every time I've talked to games people, the amount those things are stuck together with hot glue always surprises me

Again from what I've heard, there's very little in the way of a common way to hand off work or assets between groups, meaning people like tech artists have to basically create a set of tools on the fly for managing changing processes
