"Never have I ever read any book that explores the repercussions of mental health on a marriage with such an intensity... nobody could have pulled this off so effortlessly than Manral...you’d want to complete this in just one sitting."

"The sense of this leisurely, soporific life in a small hill town, the abruptness with which this tranquility is broken and the build-up is reminiscent, at times, of Ruskin Bond’s ghost stories."

"I got introduced to the writing of Kiran Manral two years back with 'Rising'. Her words simply flow, without any barrier, devoid of any ornamentation, just raw and intense....The narration is expectedly crisp and intriguing."

From back when I could still write romance, although I don't think I ever read it, not even Mills & Boon. If I had to write this now, Rhea would probably be a ghoul and Kamal, an axe murderer. But this one is a true blue romance to gladden your cynical heart.

"Kiran Manral’s The Moon in the Lining of Her Skin is profoundly engaging and exquisitely original in its blend of the earthly and the otherworldly, the real and the mythical, and in how deftly it traverses themes of parricide, power, love, fate, and redemption."
