Nearly overnight #SouthwestAirlines has destroyed brand loyalty and their identity. It's honestly impressive. I hope it's a case study future college students study in marketing classes. I think Ryan Green was right that the bag policy is a primary driver for customers selecting Southwest>others.
The truly disappointing thing about the changes with #SouthwestAirlines is the watering down of their brand. They worked to build this fun image, doing things a little different, and standing out from the crowd. Now they've fallen in line and become just another bland airline.
