I think there's a lot of value to average people being able to make any picture they can imagine. It's fun and a lot of people like it!
But also, the tech just isn't expensive. Anyone can run Stable Diffusion on their PC if they want to. You'd have to kill the personal computer.

The next Democratic president should directly target Fox News and all its cronies with a thousand times the fury of this. Aggressively investigate their leadership, sting operations at their office parties and aggressive prosecutions for offenses. ICE but for right-wing media execs.

I don't think every member of the anti-Trump coalition has to hang out, or should. There are certainly some of them who have beliefs I consider repugnant. Inasmuch as our political coalition brings us together, I'll try to show them why I believe things and persuade them to change their ways.

Rather than "Is this person rehabilitated (in moral terms) from their past sins", I would think about questions like "Is this person a useful coalition partner"? The goal of politics isn't to pass moral judgment on individual coalition partners, but to win people over, persuade, and build power.

I understand where you're coming from, but I'm not sure it's helpful to think of political coalitions in terms of "rehabilitation" at all. The idea of a political coalition as a social club in which the holy tastemakers must pass judgment on all who would pass through its gates seems unproductive.

I think that outlook is short-sighted. Previous generations of artists would have said the same thing about the Photoshop tools you use. "They take the skill out of it." "Real artists mix their own paints." etc.
Obviously making games with AI support is not easy or everyone would do it.

I think any successful liberal administration in the future needs to make regulating this a major priority. Enforce moderation requirements on major social media sites. Ban algorithmic feeds that promote addictive ragebait. Create restrictions on deliberate deception in broadcast television.

It's a reasonable impulse to post leopards and violins and dunks on all this stuff, but I think we need to resist the urge. When someone says something like this the first thing we should do is welcome them to the New American Resistance. Unironically, we'll need them!
