Experts say that noticing a small dog can make the world seem a little less awful.

Behold, an expert:

My plague doctor buddy is presiding over the trick-or-treat operation tonight.

Yaaaaaay!!! Max is glad to hear it.

I brought my current square for the blanket with me, but I want something mindless for watching K-Pop Demon Hunters with a friend tomorrow because I have been promised culture notes.

I am breaking my own rule about DPNs not being for travel knitting, because I got this gorgeous yarn at the fall festival Saturday and had to start a set of arm warmers right away. (Also I'm usually a bamboo needle user, but I left one at home and had to grab a backup set at Michael's.)

Humans are awful sometimes. Here's an emergency small dog. He helps.

Another wild Saturday night.

For personal reasons, I am sad. HOWEVER, I have a scruffy little dog and a spiffy new stack of comics by @johnwenz.bsky.social, so I guess I'll make it.

Did not have this on my bingo card for a book about the Erebus. (The book is Erebus: The Story of A Ship by Michael Palin from Monty Python.)

Anthropologists, can anyone shed light on this? Or do I have to make a very unusual request of the folks at the Body Farm?

Here you go! Details are in alt-text but if different formatting would be better, say the word!

Here is Max! He helps.

Going through my own version of this lately. This time of year is just the worst. Wishing you as much comfort and peace as possible. Also, here's Max; he helps.

Would an emergency little dog help?

Our hydrangeas are going all-out this year.

Joined one of TWO protests in my city today. You can't really see it in this picture, but we had somewhere between 50 and 75 people (I'm a writer, not a census-taker). Not bad for a smallish city in a very red state, especially given that we've had this turnout every 2 weeks since early April.

I got to be in the same room as Dr. Mae Jemison yesterday evening. I'm still in excited fangirl mode.

I don't have a cat, but I borrowed this one from a friend. His name is Jinx (the cat, not the friend).

I have placed him on the FLOOR like a PEASANT. Is Miette available? Max would like a consult.
March 27, 2025 at 5:20 AM
May I offer you a Schanuzer-snoot in these trying times?
March 22, 2025 at 4:30 AM
My scruffy little nerf-herder, Max! This is about as far as he willingly gets from me without food involved.
March 13, 2025 at 4:47 AM
My stubby-tailed tiny house dragon, Blizzard! (He lost his tail long before I got him and seems to give zero bothers about it.)
March 13, 2025 at 4:45 AM
This tracks, actually, lol.
