The night time sprites had their way with my triptych--finishing the underpainting and leaving me with the joyous task of responding to the sounds and rhythms of the paint. All very mysterious and fun. Next time you see it, it will have arrived where it wants.

Almost done with underpainting the triptych on the right.

Just finished. I don't usually work this small, but yummy handmade paper is hard to resist. Very rough and absorbent -would probably have been easier if working larger since I use palette knives but I kind of liked the challenge. Following One's Nose, 2025, oil on paper, 18 x 12"h.

Calaveras (triptych), 2025, Oil on Arches paper, 66 x 30"h. First image is how I envisioned this painting and the way I painted it. Second image is another version of the same 3 images, rotated 90 degrees thus making the triptych 90 x 22"h. Curious which version you like better?????
