It stars a young Noah Reid as hockey prodigy Farley Gordon. Olivia Newton John and Marc Jordan as mom & dad, and some famous hockey players provide cameos (with singing and dancing). It is both as wonderful and as cringy as you are imagining. Hit me up for a convo if you do end up watching it.
