Yeah that is tough! Those books would definitely have lots of ideas for you. Lots of gamifying training. I have a pointer who is too smart for her own good 😂 and I use lots of ideas from those books!

Oh the other big tip is to start over with a new word and not one you use commonly like “come” or “here.” Like we use “Dublin” lol. Very unique to our recall and we don’t “accidentally” use it in day to day so it stays strong.

Oh man, three dogs - you’re a rockstar! Lol. Def recommend that online course. It helped us a lot!! She had a lot of fun ideas for high value stuff too. Also these books! They’re very short and quick reads but also helped us with recall games.

your account. Lots of relationship building through lots and lots of positive reinforcement. Other tips - don’t only use it when the fun is ending. Use it sometimes to just release them right back to the fun so they don’t think “this word means fun is over :(“. Also don’t overuse it.

Adding more info - long lines! I have biothane long lines I used, up to 50 feet, when training recall outside. A trainer I like says positive reinforcement is like a bank account. Every good experience is another dollar in the bank so when you have to use it without reward, it doesn’t deplete /1

For recall - break it down into smaller steps and try using higher value food (meat! Stinky cheese!) for these smaller steps. Start inside. Highly recommend this trainer’s online recall class when it opens again! www.thegooddogpeople.com/classes
