Somehow perpetually optimistic, even now.
“Nevertheless, she persisted.”
Tried out watercolors after a long hiatus. The painting is a copy of a page from one of our favorite picture books, Journey by Aaron Becker. Finally got the other 2 books from the trilogy, so good.

A little downtime during classes today, was able to get an art fix in and do this chalk pastel on some cool blue paper. Something pretty on a dreary Monday

A billionaire from another country sends you this email, not knowing anything about your work, what you do, and isn’t going to take the time to learn? Like seriously Americans, we have more self-respect than this right? At this point, fans of this guy are giving off major “serf” vibes.

I really like this idea. Quick, easy to read bullet points of action. So many have no idea of efforts being made. Sure, more is needed, but we also need to be LOUD supporters when we see Dems working for good and push for more. Build up the party, not tear it down. Need more easy visuals to spread!

As life is tumbling all around us, take comfort in the fact that some things will always be…like penis graffiti in schools.

My 1st grade daughter’s drawing. Evidently a boy was bothering her in class so she drew him suspended over lava, with boulders swinging at him while she is firing arrows at him…this kid does not mess around.

I haven’t made much art in many years (was young teacher working 2 jobs, then renovating a house, then another, then kids) but I painted this recently and I’m proud of it. Since this awful election outcome, there’s an urge to make more art. Find more time for things that make us proud/fulfilled.

A hard part for me was getting excited about the prospect of our 1st female president. What that would mean for my girls growing up seeing that. We’ll be traveling during these coming formative years, learning about US history/sites, and it will be Trump in the highest office, so sad.
