It is crazy to think people CAN have full control! I really only have images in dreams! Even with PTSD, mostly it’s intrusive thoughts and rude dreams.

I have the constant narrative as well as this constant counter for my steps internally as well… it does explain a lot of my confusion, but I’m still learning how deeply this really affects us!

That’s my experience as well!! I just found this out and my whole world is upside down!!! I can’t voluntarily recall smell or taste either, but I do always have dialogue going.
