😊 non! They do sell a contemporary detective novel based in our town at the bar, as one of the 3 authors is a regular. He’s written a dedication in our copy. Reading it is proving an interesting conversation starter 🙏

My husband and I subscribe to Murder at the Manse and in today’s were reminded of our local cafe which features several front pages of Le Petit Journal.

The whole article was excellent. I am probably in a small minority who’d be a little more confident with a loved one with dementia than with a baby! But my Dad actually became a gentler person with his dementia, so not the same sadness as there must be for many.

Have you been going through your attic? I did recently, prior to our move to 🇫🇷 & came across hoarded magazines… Buzz, 21C Christian, Third Way, Restoration, all giving a fascinating glimpse of recent decades.

My mother-in-law was given 6 months to live in the 1990s and enjoyed another 13 years of life. Very thankful my own Mum, never wanting to be a nuisance or burden, didn’t ever have the option to « spare us ». I still feel gratitude for the final care she received.
