Successful applicants will once again be working with the fabulous professional theatre company the Actors of Dionysus.

After studying hard on their 'Engaging Greece' module, our students went to see the actual things they'd been studying via the inaugural Matti Egon Fieldtrip. They went to the many museums as well as exploring the city -with the highpoint being a trip up Acropolis by way of the Theatre of Dionysus!
To vanishing point perspective view down a hall with pillars to each side and a granite floor. The wood-beamed roof and sunlight and shadows add to the intensely geometric effect. Nine students stand n front of the Parthenon. They are wearing summer clothes and smiling. The sky is a cloudless blue behind. Students gather relaxedly on top of a rooftop. There is a clear view of Athens stretching out behind.

Tremendous congratulations to Professor Gonda Van Steen who has been awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Patras!

Professor Van Steen is our Koraes Chair of Modern Greek and Byzantine History, Language and Literature, and Director of the Centre for Hellenic Studies.
