Small, progressive, spiritual community in Calgary
Since keeping folks who connect with us safe in the big, bad world of social media is important to us at KB, it's challenging to find pics to post (and rooms full of folks with their faces blanked out isn't ideal). So here's some empty spaces we've gathered in recently.

Yesterday my backyard was hosting an obstacle course for our Silly Games and Prizes BBQ, today it's cleaned up and hosting expanded solar capacity so (hopefully) the KB office can keep running on green energy through the fall and winter.

Today is the first day of the KB office running on 100% solar energy. Off-grid booyah!

* Equipment re-purposed from Rob's camping supplies ... messy looking right now, but that'll (probably) change.

Summer’s height in Canada: a relaxed, less-structured, fleeting-moment with huge cultural influence. KB has always leaned into this time to allow new community expressions to be invented, and old ones to retire (retirement is not death!). This is an open process, so ask @rrscott.bsky.social to chat!

Over the years we’ve continually had folks in our sphere of relationships struggling to hang on to the basic human right of a safe, stable place to live. The “earned privilege” delusion & victim blaming disintegrate quickly when you actually befriend people without homes. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
FIRST PERSON | My family lived in a hotel for a year. I wish people understood homelessness isn't a choice | CBC News
When Terri Singer and her family were priced out of the rental market, they had no choice but to live in a hotel. She writes it felt like a gilded prison of sorts, where they could see others come and...

King’s Bridge’s Meta accounts are now fully deleted, so anyone using the KB name in the future on Meta platforms isn’t the same organization as us. Our web presence is now limited to Bluesky and our website (where there’s lots of info about what our community is, and what we do). kbcalgary.com

If you've attended at least 1 KB gathering in-person or via Zoom in recent months, consider signing up for the Community area of our (otherwise public) website. It's a private space where things like photos & posts can be safely shared that replaces our private Facebook group. www.kbcalgary.com/blog

A female leader of men, spending her entire adult life in the deepest possible companionship with another woman, defending and aiding the poor and marginalized? St. Brigid's Day rocks! So, hug a gay person, eat a potato, read deeply, and never forget Jesusy love and life conquers death!
