The amount of times I've considered rolling over to the civil service :'D

IDK. I love teaching, I get to talk about some great texts (5/6 are excellent). The students are focused on learning, behaviour management isn't really an issue. My colleagues are cool. I do love my job, (just not always)!

Which normally, I'd be fine with, I make enough to live and be comfortable. But I do the same amount of work as teacher, I'm as specialised as a teacher, a qualified teacher; but we're significantly under paid.

A new teacher comes in at 30-31k. I've been teaching 10 years and get less than that.

Ten years on, no desire to do PhD, going grey incredibly quickly, but I love teaching. Being in the classroom is great, but the beauracracy, workload increase and rising admin is making it harder and harder to justify.

AND because I teach 16+, I'm not on the teacher pay scale so less money for me.
