And also, ffs Labour. Priorities. Golden opportunity to change the country for the better and this is the thing you focus on.

I’m not saying it should be compulsory, but why shouldn’t state school kids get to decide for themselves? It’s seems weirdly snobby to assume only private school kids would want to learn Latin.

If there’s a word I don’t understand, 8 times out of 10 I can work out the gist because I know the Latin root of the word. This helped me enormously when I went to uni and started reading books about difficult things, and continues to help me now on holiday reading menus.

But second, even if you don’t want to do any of that, Latin is genuinely really helpful. Despite paying no attention at school and only studying it for a couple of years, I use Latin to help me all the time in my actual real, undead language life.

First off, obviously, Latin gives you a leg up on law, medicine, sciences, languages, history, archaeology etc. so is demonstrably a useful thing to learn if you want to go into those fields.

I went to a state grammar where we were forced to learn Latin until the age of 14/15 and although at the time I was completely unappreciative, it has actually been one of the subjects I got the most “value for money” for. Even though I used to say “it’s a dead language” in every lesson (sorry mrs b)

Just fup him. Who gives a fup? He’s totally unqualified to weigh in on uk politics and by his own admission, constantly taking ketamine. Does anyone understand the effect that has on the brain long term? Because I think it explains a lot: www.priorygroup.com/blog/long-te...
Long-term effects of ketamine
Ketamine is a powerful anaesthetic drug that's used for pain management in veterinary settings and occasionally in hospitals. Here are some long-term effects of the drug.

He’s Scottish so he makes stew and fries things. That’s it. Super noodles. And lettuce soup once. (Which was basically just water with lettuce in it).

I have the advantage of being the only one who can cook Christmas dinner, which doesn’t sound like an advantage until you realise you can use it as leverage to get people to go to the shop for you…

I’m going to send “him” to do it… my secret plan… mwahahahaaa…

Uuuugh… I might just pretend we don’t like bread… went to the supermarket yesterday and as usual, it was a deeply traumatising experience…
