I actually do love the semi-canon idea that Lachesis had Diarmuid with Beowulf and Nanna with Finn. It's a type of family dynamic you don't see in fiction that often.

Yeah no, some of the Archive items are really important for understanding the story/characters. One that comes to mind is a newspaper clipping that explains why Takato cares so much about Harumi. Or a Rosetta stone that translates the Shibito language which gives more context to other things!

Shiro waking up to an open grave in the countryside and being shocked when he sees that nothing is in the hole is one of the best hooks I've ever seen for a character in a long time. SO MUCH IMPLICATION, and it pays off so well once you know his deal.

I'm watching a LP of Siren 2 rn and it reminded me that the storytelling in these games is INCREDIBLE a lot of the time. So many little subtle clues between the archive items, the character tidbits, and how little exchanges can mean so much once the full picture is unveiled.

It's especially disappointing for Eliwood since the Binding Blade Trial map version of him has his Lances at S rank, implying it's his preferred weapon type.
We could have had the Blazing Lords representing the whole weapon triangle!

Macuil and Indech. Maybe even Epimenides. And there's a character in the trailer that I'm 80% convinced is supposed to be Nemesis.

Hi I was also that kid who played and beat 2 first. Personally I was confused at first but eventually I went "Oh I guess Sora must have had another adventure at some point" and I was fine and could follow everything from there.
I didn't even register that there was a 2 on the cover.

Everything I've heard about Square as a company is that it apparently has all the trappings of the worst of western AAA/AAAA company policies, bad financial decisions, and trend chasing, and the only reason it hasn't gone under is because it has talented people and especially FF14 keeping it afloat.

I think Remake is a better game overall, but I actually think Barry is handled better in the original.
It's more ambiguous about whether he's shady or not. That bit where he drops the rope could have just legit been an accident on his part, and overall it makes hanging out with him more unsettling.

Their main issue is that their backstory is a bit too undefined in some places, likely because the writers want the player to fill it in themselves, but it's also a carryover of Three Houses storytelling in general leaving gaps for the player to come up with their own theories.

Byleth has some personality traits and they do get fleshed out a bit more in Hopes.
Shez is an outgoing himbo with their own dreams, good chemistry with several members of the cast (Ashe and Dedue were highlights from what I remember) and has their own perspectives on the wider Fodlan war.
