It's mostly a financial decision, based on the exchange rate: 1) High cost of being there + 2) if you cash out now, you leave with a lot more CAD$ +3) Prorogue of parliament means the capital gains will not apply. The decisions are financial rather than patriotic.

Buying elections w cheques has now become standard affair in Canada? On a smaller scale, I saw this in another country yrs ago. Could not believe it then, as I feel here now. Dear Leader here in QC, bought his last mandate, most ppl would pay 2x that to get rid of him now...if that were an option.
