My daughter woke up early to go to the dentist. Not because she loves drills, but because she wanted to move tomorrow’s appointment to today. Why not just call? Because the default phone system is a usability nightmare—long waits, dropped calls, and a dash of despair. So she went in person.

As a Asian foreigner in EU, feeling that your rights are protected and your dignity respected isn’t something to take for granted. I wonder how many countries still offer that kind of peace of mind.
Faced a small act of discrimination today — a rare experience. After 20 years in Scandinavia, I as Asian - Japanese, can honestly say it’s not something I’ve encountered often. I just happened to end up living here, but what a lucky accident.

I replied, “Sure, as an LDP-endorsed candidate”, however, still feeling unsettled by that. I I’m wondering… was that a compliment, an insult, or just classic LDP recruitment strategy?
Recently spoke with a senior LDP lady from Japan. She commented that the reason the Sanseitō party did well in the upper house election was because they “brought in cute girls” — regardless of political skill. Then she asked to me, “Why don’t you run for office?”
